Session 2
October 21 to November 27
(Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm over 6 weeks)

Course delivery & certificate
  • Program Duration: 24 hours
  • Format: The classes include both theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops and exercises
  • Assignments: Small assignments will be given whenever applicable between sessions
  • Project: A post-course project will be assigned to individual students to apply the learned concepts and skills
  • Certificate: Following the completion of the program, the student will be awarded the Meirc/Clouds Media Certificate and another Certificate by ISM (Institute of Sales Management-UK).
  • Equipment: Meirc will supply students with computers and related training materials

  • Introduction to Google Ads (Previously AdWords)
  • Campaigns, AdGroups and Ads
  • Ad editorial best practices
  • Working with the keyword planner

Week 2:

3. Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Advertising on Google Paid Search (Part 2)

  • The different keyword match types
  • Campaign and bid optimization
  • Reading and analyzing Google Ads reports
  • Group exercise: Create a full search campaign

4. SEO Basics: Search Engine Optimization

  • SEO vs. SEM
  • Key SEO tags and fields
  • Onsite and content optimization basics
  • Offsite optimization basics

Week 3:

5. Social Media Marketing & Advertising (Part 1)

  • Social media engagement best practices
  • How to design effective posts
  • Key social media marketing metrics
  • Exercise: Critique of real case social media posts

6. Social Media Marketing & Advertising (Part 2)

  • Deep dive into the Facebook ads manager
  • How to effectively target your audience
  • Live demo: Facebook and Instagram advertising

Week 4:

7. Display Advertising and Video Marketing

  • How Display advertising works
  • Overview of the Google Display Network (GDN)
  • How to advertise your videos on YouTube
  • Live demo: Creating a Display ad campaign on the GDN

8. The Power of Remarketing

  • How remarketing works
  • Creating remarketing lists in Google Ads
  • Introduction to retargeting on Adroll
  • Live demo: Creating a remarketing campaign

Week 5:

9. Email Marketing & Newsletters

  • The value of email marketing
  • Email marketing best practices
  • Live demo: Creating a newsletter on Mailchimp

10. Web Analytics & Conversions

  • Tracking and improving your online conversions
  • Overview of Google Analytics
  • Creating and tracking goals
  • Exercise: Calculate your campaign ROI

Instructor

Imad Karam

Imad Karam is a former Googler turned online marketing expert and digital consultant with over 10 years of experience in the field.

As a former Senior Industry Analyst at Google UK and as the current CEO at Clouds Media (a leading digital marketing agency based in Dubai and Beirut since 2010), Imad has advised, trained and helped hundreds of clients in Europe and the Middle East.

He has helped a large number of regional and multinational firms reach digital excellence including: Virgin Media, Times Online, The Daily Mail, MSN, Propertyfinder.ae, Balloonshop.ae, CBRE, Ray White, Mercedes Lebanon and many others.

Imad Karam is a regular instructor at the Lebanese American University and teaches digital marketing to an audience of post-graduate students and EMBA students.

He is also a guest instructor at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and teaches the course “online marketing in the healthcare sector” for bio-marketing degree students.

He has been featured many times in local media and TV programs as a digital marketing expert.

Imad is a graduate of HEC Paris (Master of Science in Marketing and Management) and ESIB (Master of Telecom Engineering).

Previous experience includes working at Google UK, Merrill Lynch UK and General Electric.
