Mr. Walid Fraiha is a senior consultant with Meirc Training & Consulting. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Notre Dame University in Lebanon and a masters in accounting and taxation from the University of Hartford in Connecticut, USA. Walid is a certified public accountant and a member of the information systems audit and control association.
Walid has more than twenty years of experience in the Middle East and USA. His professional background includes business advisory and audit roles with Ernst & Young, as well as financial management with Kettaneh Group focusing on accounting, finance and internal audit functions. Walid also worked as group financial controller in JHF, a manufacturing, wholesale, and retail group in Connecticut, USA. He also served as business advisor and auditor and held senior finance positions in other companies that gave him solid experience in launching and managing their financial departments. His industry knowledge includes service, consulting, auditing, production and manufacturing, as well as trading and contracting. Before joining Meirc, Walid was the corporate financial controller for GlobeMed, a group that invests in and provides solutions to third party administrators. He was in charge of accounting and financial reporting and led the efforts to set up the internal audit function and to negotiate financing deals with banks.
Walid has extensive experience in financial and managerial accounting, internal control, operational and compliance auditing, corporate governance and structures. His value proposition includes setting structure for governance, risk and compliance systems and designing policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and finance departments. Walid also specializes in training finance personnel in reporting and analysis, with an emphasis on monthly and year end closing, budget preparation, and senior management reporting.
