Education

Mr. Chaouki Eid is partner and managing director with Meirc Training & Consulting. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the Middlesex Polytechnic, England, and a master of science in management sciences from Southampton University, England. Chaouki also attended executive leadership training at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Experience

Chaouki’s industrial experience includes working as plant, maintenance and project engineer for general construction companies in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. In that capacity, he managed the operation and maintenance business units of construction plants and equipment, as well as the materials planning and control divisions of all in-house expansion and modification projects. Chaouki also worked as a management consultant for an American-based productivity improvement company on projects in Australia and New Zealand. In his role as consultant, he was directly responsible for improving operation efficiencies and productivity for clients in the manufacturing, financial and service industries. During that period, his focus included the performance evaluation of business units, manpower planning, auditing, design and installation of management operating systems including setting objectives and key performance indicators. Chaouki was also instrumental in coaching his clients on how to identify and solve work-related problems to optimize performance.

Expertise

Besides his managerial and leadership responsibilities in Meirc, Chaouki has led consulting interventions in the areas of strategic planning, productivity improvement, cost reduction, cost of living surveys and career development programs. He also facilitates training courses in the balanced scorecard, KPI development, materials and supply chain management, as well as project, contract, and asset management.  In addition, Chaouki’s areas of expertise include programs in supervision, behavioral skills and safety. Since the late 1980s, Chaouki has facilitated training interventions in more than 20 countries in the GCC, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. As a veteran with Meirc, he has been involved in all aspects of the management of the company, with specific emphasis on business development and operations.
