Samer K. Taher
Samer K. Taher, Managing Director
Education
Mr. Taher is Managing Director of Meirc Training & Consulting. He is a graduate of the American University of Beirut and is certified by Development Dimensions International (DDI) in Interaction Management and by Saville & Holdsworth (SHL) in Occupational Testing and Occupation Profiling.
Experience
Mr. Taher started his career in the USA in 1985 as a Training Officer in Pepsi Cola and later on as a Training Manager in one of Pepsi Cola’s subsidiaries. In 1991, he moved to Kuwait to assume the position of Training Officer, Group Training Manager and later on as Head of Human Resources with Al-Homaizi Group, the franchisee for Pizza Hut, Burger King, and a number of other international brands. Prior to joining Meirc in 2000, Mr. Taher was the Regional Head for Training & Development (Middle East & South Asia) for Standard Chartered Bank in Dubai where he was instrumental in the establishment of a full-fledged assessment center to support the bank’s nationalization drive.
Expertise
Mr. Taher specializes in training and consulting within the areas of organizational behavior with special emphasis on strategic management & leadership, human resources and presentation skills. He is an expert in performance measurement through the use of key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards and dashboards. Mr. Taher is also a subject matter expert in the area of competencies and competency-based human resources and has helped several organizations in this region successfully establish and implement a range of competency-based HR applications such as competency based recruitment, selection, training and performance management.
